Policies Patron Registration : Patrons will be registered to borrow books upon completion of a registration card. Proof of identity and birth date are needed for adults. Loan Periods: Books, audio books and magazines - 2 Weeks Fines: Books, audio books and magazines: 10 cents per each open day for adults, 5 cents for children. Videos: $1.00 per tape for each open day. Computer Use Policy: Mt. Morris Library Provides a computer for use by the public for word processing and Internet access. The Internet is an information resource which the Mt. Morris Library makes available to the public. The Library takes no responsibility for content which may be outdated, erroneous, libelous or offensive. Sending ar receiving offensive or obsecene communications exposes the Library to defamation or libel lawsuits and is not allowed. Ther are no computer use fees. Documents may be printed for .15 per page. Users must sign in at the desk before use. Sign-in will be interpreted as agreement to abide by the Rules for Use as posted. Any registered Mt. Morris Library patron over the age of 10 and in good standing (no outstanding fines or overdues) may use the computer. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Those under 18 must also have written parental permission before using the computer, which will also give them parental permission to use the Internet. Games will not be available, nor will their playing be allowed on the computer; nor will chat room participation be allowed. Sessions are limited to one hour. No more than two people may be at the computer at one time. Sessions may be terminated at the discretion of Library Staff for inappropriate use of services. The library supports the American Library Association Library Bill of Rights, including those that deal with intellectual freedom, as well as the First Amendment to the Consitiution of the United States. The library also affirms that it is the right and responsibility of parents to monitor their minor children's use of library materials, including Internet access. The library is not responsible for any damage to or loss of data resulting from the use of our computer. We have no control over the availability of our network access, or inability to connect to any site due to excessive traffic on the Internet, or the availablility of informaation links, which change frequently. All users, and, in the case of those under 18, users' parents, will be held responsible for any damage done to library equipment or software.
